UAE residents have simplified entry into Oman
Visa requirements have been relaxed at the UAE-Oman border.
Residents of the United Arab Emirates have been given an easier entry into the Sultanate of Oman. Crossing the border will be much easier, thanks to an agreement reached between the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) and the Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran Group).
The two agencies signed a tourism development agreement between Ras Al Khaimah and Oman's Musandam province, a popular destination for UAE residents and water sports enthusiasts. The agreements will make it easier for travellers from around the world to visit both Ras Al Khaimah and Musandam.
UAE residents can now obtain a visa to Oman on arrival, simplifying visa procedures for them. One of the key objectives of the agreement is to facilitate access for foreign tourists to explore both destinations “in one trip.”
An international bus route linked Ras Al Khaimah and Musandam back in the fall of 2023, launched by the transport authority of the northern emirate. The fare is 50 dirhams, travel time is 2.5 - 3 hours.
The bus currently operates on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and makes several stops along the way, including in the Al Rams and Shaam areas of Ras Al Khaimah and the Tibaat, Bukha, Harf, Qada and Khasab areas.
The bus departs from Ras Al Khaimah and Musandam bus stations at 08:00 and 18:00. Children under three years old can travel for free. UAE residents must pay a visa fee of AED 47 to enter Oman, and must have an ID and passport.
